Bob Amirian, Esq.

“Plaintiff’s work, done with the discipline of attorneys who learned to write for federal judges.”

Federal-court training

Bob Amirian founded Amparo Law Firm to bring federal-court legal craft to New York plaintiff’s practice. After law school, he clerked on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit — a court that hears patent appeals, federal employee cases, and a docket of complex civil matters that demands precise writing, careful reading of the record, and rigorous standards of proof.

From the Federal Circuit, Bob joined Venable LLP, where he practiced civil litigation. The training was federal: motion practice under the Federal Rules, expert depositions, summary judgment briefing, oral argument before federal judges. That training is not the typical baseline in NYC plaintiff’s work — and it shows up in everything Amparo files.

Practice areas

Bob’s practice focuses on three areas: New York construction accident cases under Labor Law §240, §241(6), and §200; motor vehicle and personal injury litigation; and securities investor rights work, primarily federal securities class actions and shareholder derivative cases. He is admitted to practice in New York, California, Texas, Colorado and the District of Columbia, and his securities practice operates nationally.

Languages and access

Bob is fluent in English, Spanish, and Farsi. He represents clients in their language directly, without an interpreter — a difference that matters for clients whose first conversation about an injury is the most important one they’ll have for a year.
