About the firm

Amparo Law Firm is a New York

Amparo Law Firm is a New York plaintiff’s firm built on a specific premise: that the most consequential cases — serious construction injuries, severe auto accidents, securities fraud against retail investors — deserve representation that combines federal-court legal craft with the operational fluency of someone who has actually run the kind of project at issue.

Most NYC plaintiff’s firms don’t work that way. The dominant model in the borough’s PI practice is volume: high marketing spend, large case inventories, junior associates handling files, settlements driven by the next case in line rather than the merits of the current one. That model produces revenue. It does not produce the most informed representation a client could have.

We built Amparo differently.

The two cylinders

Two structural choices distinguish Amparo from a typical NYC plaintiff’s firm.

Federal-court legal craft

Our managing partner, Bob Amirian, clerked on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit for the Honorable Sharon Prost, then Chief Judge — among the most selective positions in the legal profession — before practicing at Venable LLP, a national BigLaw firm.

That training is unusual in NYC plaintiff’s work. Federal motion practice forces a level of precision in pleadings and discipline in discovery that most state-court PI work doesn’t require. The cases we build look like federal cases: tight pleadings, organized discovery, clear theories of liability, expert reports that hold up.

The discipline matters even when our cases stay in state court. It produces better settlement outcomes (defense counsel respects the work product and adjusts their reserves accordingly) and, when cases do go to trial, it produces better trials.

Developer-side operational insight

Our co-founder and Chief Operating Officer, Jordan Sakni, runs an active New York real estate development and private equity firm — Simba Property Group — alongside his law school studies. He has signed general contractor agreements, sat through OAC meetings as the owner’s representative, supervised subcontractors on active sites, read daily logs in real time, and watched safety budgets get value-engineered down under schedule pressure.

That perspective is the second layer of analysis on every construction-related case at Amparo. When we read an OSHA citation, we don’t just see a number — we see whether the GC contested it, whether the safety officer was on site, whether the abatement was paper-only. When we read an AIA contract, we know where the responsibility actually lies. When we read a daily log, we recognize the schedule pressure that produced the corner-cutting.

To our knowledge, no other NYC plaintiff’s firm has this combination.

(Important note: Jordan is not currently admitted to practice law in any jurisdiction. He is a J.D. candidate. His role at Amparo is operational and strategic. All legal services are performed by Bob Amirian, Esq., or other admitted counsel. Read more on [Jordan’s bio page](#) `(/about/jordan-sakni/)`.)

Our Practice Areas

Construction Accidents

We represent injured construction workers across the five boroughs and Long Island under New York’s Labor Law — the most powerful construction worker protection statute in the United States. Our practice covers the full range of construction injuries: scaffold falls, falling-object strikes, ladder accidents, electrocutions, struck-by-equipment, crane and rigging accidents, trench collapses, demolition injuries, and construction wrongful death.

Personal Injury & Auto Accidents

We represent people injured in motor vehicle accidents, pedestrian strikes, cyclist collisions, rideshare incidents, MTA bus accidents, and commercial vehicle crashes across New York City. Our auto practice navigates the complexity of New York no-fault, the serious injury threshold, and the multiple insurance coverage layers that determine what an injured person can actually recover.

Investor Rights

Through our Amparo Investor Rights practice, we represent shareholders harmed by corporate misconduct — securities fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, merger objection cases. The investor rights practice operates nationally on a contingency-fee basis with no out-of-pocket cost to clients.

Our Approach to client representation

01

Direct attorney access

Bob Amirian represents Amparo’s clients personally. You will not be passed off to junior staff for the substantive work on your case. The intake conversation, the strategic decisions, the depositions, the settlement negotiations, the trial — all of these are handled by Bob himself.

02

Real communication

Amparo’s clients hear from their lawyer in plain language, on a consistent schedule, with real updates. We do not believe the legal industry’s tradition of treating clients as passive recipients of opaque process serves anyone well.

03

Trilingual representation

The firm represents clients in English, Spanish, and Farsi — the three languages Bob speaks fluently. We have extensive experience working with Spanish-speaking construction workers and immigrant families across NYC, including representation regardless of immigration status. We coordinate with translators in additional languages when matters require it.

04

No fee unless we recover

All of our injury and personal injury work is on contingency. Clients pay nothing up front and pay nothing if we do not recover for them. The standard NY contingency for personal injury cases is one-third of the recovery, with terms set out in a written engagement letter signed before representation begins.

05

Hospital and home visits

For clients who can’t come to our One World Trade Center office, we come to them — at the hospital, at home, by video, or wherever else is necessary.

Where we serve

Amparo Law Firm represents clients in:

– All five boroughs of New York City — Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Bronx, Staten Island – Long Island — Nassau and Suffolk Counties – Westchester County and the Hudson Valley – California and the District of Columbia, where our managing partner is also admitted, with the firm operating through its principal office at 1 World Trade Center
